Reasons to watch the Pokémon D/P series

D/P is the only series of Pokémon , besides X/Y and AG, that I've watched nearly every episode of.

Here are some reasons why I think the D/P series of  Pokémon is definately worth watching if you haven't already.

                                                                   The League.

I think the league for this region was the best out of all the leagues in the Pokémon series. It was great seeing Ash use a mix of both his old and new Pokémon in this league. It made Ash's matches have more variety to them. And Ash's quarter-final match against his main rival Paul, well, it was an epic match that was so intense and lasted three whole episodes.

  The Wallace Cup.

The Wallace Cup was a three episode arc of a contest that involved Ash and Dawn competing in it. Ash's former Hoenn travelling companion, May, also competed in the Wallace Cup tournament. Seeing May return to the series was awesome. We also see Dawn's main rival, Zoey, compete in the tournament too. The Wallace Cup had some great action in it, including an intense match in the final between May and Dawn. This contest had great moments in it; like the semi-final match between Zoey and May. And the final match between Dawn and May. Ash deciding to compete in this contest was an creative way to make the tournament more interesting. He and Buizel even pulled of an Ice Aqua Jet combination technique which we would see again later on in the series.

Dawn's development and contest goal.

Dawn's development in D/P was great. It was cool seeing her develop from a coordinator who was overconfident and too optimistic about her abilities, to a coordinator who could turn a loss into a way to create a better strategy. Dawn was becoming better at learning new strategies and techniques throughout the entire D/P series. Her contest goal episodes helped get rid of the usual standard filler episodes of Pokemon. And Dawn made some interesting contest episodes by using new and creative strategies in contest battles to earn points. Dawn's determination and attitude of never giving up during a tricky situation is another great thing about her character.

Ash's experience.

Ash was a really strong and experienced trainer during this series. He seemed to be able to turn losses into ways to improve for next time. His experience from previous series is shown very well in this series. Especially from the way he is shown to teach and help Dawn become better at her goal. Ash also had a balanced type team in this series. His Infernape was an awesome Pokemon that had been abandoned by Ash's main rival Paul. Ash decided to invite Chimchar to join his team, and since then, the care, kindness, and support of Ash helped Chimchar evolve and become one of Ash's strongest Pokemon of all time. It played a key role in Ash's journey in the D/P series.

The Grand Festival.

The Grand Festival was a coordinator version of the League. It was what Dawn competed in once she achieved earning five contest ribbons. Dawn showcased all she learned from her journey and time with Ash here. Dawn had an epic match against one of her rivals Ursula. Dawn made it all the way to the final, but narrowly lost to her main rival Zoey. The Grand Festival was brilliantly animated and the perfect way to showcase Dawn's development and determination.
